Robert Forshaw was a member of Woolwich Photographic Society for over twenty five years. With the formation of Aperture in 1990 he was one of the first members to join the group. When the two clubs merged to create Aperture Woolwich Photographic Society. Bob remained a member until his death in 2009.
During his time with these clubs he was Competitions Secretary, travelling to every away competition and photographic meeting as club representative.
Bob was very fine photographer and a skilled darkroom worker, he processed his own monochrome and colour film, as well as printing both medium.
With the advent of digital, Bob immediately saw how it would benefit photography, he embraced the technology and quickly mastered the new skills needed to continue working at the same high level he had achieved with film photography.
Bob was well liked and respected wherever he went. He was always willing to pass on his personal expertise and encouragment to members of the club.
